Calling all champions, warriors, and tabletop legends: your next quest is to save lives.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) is teaming up with Cataclysm Games for the second annual “Blood for the Blood God” blood drive, held during the game store’s Customer Appreciation Event.
The drive will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cataclysm Games, 8289 Burden Road in Machesney Park.
The first 100 donors will receive a limited-edition “Blood for the Blood God” T-shirt and a “Pint for a Pint” certificate redeemable at Culver’s. Last year’s event surpassed expectations, collecting 58 donations, well above the goal of 35. This year, organizers aim to collect more than 120 donations. Each donation can help save up to three lives and support patients at the region’s 14 local hospitals.
“This drive is a fun way to rally our community around a life-saving cause,” said Lisa Entrikin, CEO of RRVBC. “Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or just someone who wants to make a difference, we welcome you to join us.”
