Townsquare Media partners with RRVBC to honor Rockford Day with donations and giveaways

In celebration of all things Rockford, the Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) is teaming up with Townsquare Media to host a special 815 Day Blood Drive from Tuesday, Aug. 12, through Friday, Aug. 15, at RRVBC’s Rockford donor centers.

The celebration will kick off on Tuesday, Aug. 12, with a live broadcast from local radio personality Sweet Lenny of 97ZOK at the Perryville donor center from 9 to 11 a.m., featuring music and giveaways.

As a token of appreciation, all donors will receive the following thank-you gifts, while supplies last:

  • A free small cheese pizza from Sam’s Pizza on Riverside
  • A coupon of your choice from participating Rockford-area businesses
  • Entry into a raffle for a $100 gift card to WM Day Spa and a $50 gift card to Franchesco’s Ristorante

Last week, RRVBC collected only 60% of its weekly goal, a shortfall that directly affects our ability to supply life-saving blood to the 14 hospitals we serve across the region. This shortage increases the risk of delayed treatments, postponed surgeries, and limited emergency response capabilities.

Every blood type is urgently needed, and we are asking donors to give as soon as possible to help stabilize the supply

The 815 Blood Drive will take place at the following donation center locations:

Downtown Donor Center
418 N. Longwood St., Rockford, IL

  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday and Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Perryville Donor Center
3065 N. Perryville Road, Rockford, IL

  • Tuesday through Thursday: 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Rockford 815 Day is all about celebrating the Rock Valley region, and there’s no better way to show that spirit than by giving the gift of life,” said Lisa Entrikin, CEO of RRVBC. “This community continues to step up when it matters most, and we’re excited to offer fun incentives and local partnerships that make donating even more rewarding.”

Appointments are encouraged but not required. To schedule a donation, visit rrvbc.org or call 815-965-8751. Walk-ins are welcome.
