“Every year, we look forward to hosting the Halloween Vein Drain Blood Drive with our partner WIFR,” said Lisa Entrikin, CEO of RRVBC. “We rely on incredible partnerships like this to provide blood to the 14 regional hospitals we support across Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. We encourage members of the community to come by, get their spooky on and save lives!”
Donating blood is simple, safe, and quick. One unit can save up to three lives. The donation process starts with registration, followed by a care specialist taking vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and hemoglobin), and a short eligibility questionnaire is required. The donation takes about 10 minutes and donors can sit back and relax. Once the giving process is complete,
Refreshments, snacks and candy will be available for donors to replenish.
First-time donors should bring a photo ID. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait times but are not required. Donors can schedule online at rrvbc.org or by calling 815-965-8751. Walk-ins are also welcome.
