The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC), Holcomb Bank, and 102.3 The Coyote will host the 14th Annual Vein Drain Blood Drive from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at Holcomb Bank, 233 E. Illinois Route 38, Rochelle.

All donors will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last) and be entered into a drawing to win a $500 gift card. A food truck will also be on site for donors to get a free snack once they complete their donations.

“We are continually inspired by the unwavering commitment of Holcomb Bank and 102.3 The Coyote to host this annual drive year after year,” said Heidi Ognibene, COO at the Rock River Valley Blood Center. “This drive is a testament to the power of our community as it pumps life-saving blood into the 14 regional hospitals we support, including Rochelle Community Hospital.”

Donating blood is simple, and one unit can save up to three lives. After registering, a donor care specialist will take your vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse and hemoglobin), you’ll complete an eligibility questionnaire, and then sit back and relax while you give. The donation itself only lasts about 10 minutes. Refreshments await after you’re done donating.

If you’re a first-time donor, please bring a photo ID. Individuals can donate a single unit (whole blood donation, the most common type) every 56 days.

Donors can make appointments online by clicking here, by calling 815-965-8751 or using the myRRVBC app. Walk-ins will also be welcome.
