Ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the reopening of its Belvidere donor site
The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) announced the official reopening of its donor site in Belvidere, marking a renewed commitment to serving the blood needs of the local community. In partnership with the Boone County Chamber of Commerce, a grand reopening event will take place Monday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 1740 S. State St. in Belvidere, with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. to officially commemorate the reopening.
RRVBC invites the community to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and donate blood in honor of the grand reopening. To thank donors for their life-saving contributions, doughnuts from Edwards Apple Orchard will be provided. Slices of pie from Ned’s Diner will be available for successful blood donors. In addition to sweet treats, the first five donors will receive a $10 gift card to Edwards Apple Orchard.
“We are thrilled to reopen our Belvidere site and provide a welcoming space for the Boone County community to donate lifesaving blood,” said Lisa Entrikin, CEO of RRVBC. “Whether a first-time or returning donor, we encourage community members to spend just one hour of their day to help someone that might be in critical need tomorrow.”
Attendees of the ribbon-cutting ceremony will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet staff, and learn more about the importance of regular blood donation.
Appointments to donate blood are recommended to reduce wait times but are not required. To schedule a donation, visit rrvbc.org or call 815-965-8751. Walk-ins are welcome.
